General Manager of PT. PLN (Persero) East Java
Distribution Ir. Moch. Sulastyo in his speech explained that this event in addition to inaugurate a pilot program Prepaid Electricity in the village Seruni, as well as a symbolic declaration of the implementation of prepaid electricity program of PLN network service unit (UPJ) of East Java and PLN units throughout Indonesia.
Some of the benefits of this Prepaid Electricity Program, among others;
- Consumers will be more disciplined in the use of electrical energy and adjust their own the budget respectively.
- Not tied to the recording of meters and the payment schedule.
- There is no delinquent, sanctions and fines separation delay.
- No Deposit Subscription worn (UJL)
- Token (rechargeable electrical energy) can be purchased in many places
As a pilot program in East Java Distribution, PLN has installed as many as 8.600 pre-paid electricity units from 9644 units of the target. While the total number of PLN subscribersin East Java Distribution is 7.1 million units consisting 172 RT served by Service Unit 16.
At the end of his speech Ir. Moch. Sulastyo, MM thank the Sruni villagers who have been pleased to change the way of subscription from postpaid electricity to prepay. Thanks also submitted to the board of Pesantren AL Barokah which has facilitated the inauguration ceremony so it is well established and smoothly.

In his speech Bupati Win Hendrarso declared thank that PT. PLN has made Sidoarjo as a pilot area Prepaid Electricity Program. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Mr. Dahlan Iskan PLN will get better at serving the community.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT PLN Dahlan Iskan in his speech presented PLN programs, those are:
- Until the year 2012 PLN target more than 50% of electricity customers have switched to a prepaid system
- PLN is evaluating cooperation system between PLN with private partners to maximize customer service to the public
- PLN has been trying to fulfill the needs of gas as a fuel for electricity generator
- PLN plans to build 150 units of new power plants in Indonesia
